Do you have a passion for helping children learn? Do you want to volunteer from the comfort of your home? Then, join us as a remote child tutor this fall! Reading Connections is the largest adult literacy nonprofit organization in North Carolina.  Our Family Literacy Program provides literacy support for families at Title I elementary schools and community centers in Guilford County during the school year. This program offers parents an opportunity to support their children’s literacy development while improving their own literacy skills at the same time. Centered on the belief that parents are their children’s first teachers, the program incorporates focused literacy instruction for parents and children, fostering both a habit and a love of reading among the families we serve. We’re currently looking for tutors to work with elementary school children (Pre-K through 5th grade) one-on-one or in small groups. Math and literacy tutoring lesson plans are provided. Orientation and training provided.    Requirements:  Access to Internet and laptop with a camera  Familiarity with online meeting platforms like Zoom, or willing to learn   Shifts:  Monday, 4-5 pm  Tuesday, 4-5 pm  Wednesday, 4-5 pm    To learn more or to sign up, contact Alison (awelch@readingconnections.org).
