Guilford County Organizations: HORSEPOWER Therapeutic Learning Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the Piedmont Triad community since 1995. HORSEPOWER is a premier PATH International center and provides therapeutic equine activities for over 300 individuals with disabilities each year. To complete community service at HORSEPOWER, please Complete Community Service Application and Background Check Screening Form, email volunteer@horsepower.org, or CLICK HERE City of Greensboro – Parks and Recreation Community Service hours can be earned at various parks and recreation locations, which will be determined by the Volunteer Coordinator. Community Service volunteers must complete an online volunteer application and background check before receiving placement. The City of Greensboro does not accept volunteers who have been convicted of, pled guilty or no contest to any sexual offenses and violent felonies (regardless of the amount of time since offense). The Community Support and Nutrition Program needs volunteers to help in the food pantry. Duties include: loading and unloading, sorting food donations, packing boxes, etc. To help out, please contact Susan Cox at scox@onestepfurther.com Tiny House Community Development: Triad Goodwill: Email volunteer@triadgoodwill.org or apply online Other The Salvation Army of Alamance County The Salvation Army of Alamance County works with and supports the community through our Church, Boys and Girls Club, Family Thrift Store, Food Pantry, and Social Service Program. Lawyer-Recommended or Court-Ordered Community Service volunteers are required to work a minimum of 4 hours each day for credit to be received.
Duties include cleaning the warehouse and office, as well as assisting builders with constructing chicken coops and storage buildings.

Retail Store Volunteers: Triad Goodwill’s Mission is to Improve Lives and Enrich Communities Through the Power of Work. Volunteers are always needed in our 23 Retail Stores, Monday-Friday between 10 am and 7 pm, Saturdays between 10am and 7 pm, and on Sundays between 1 pm and 6pm.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting donation attendants with accepting, handling, and sorting donations, hanging and sorting garments; Inspecting and merchandising housewares; Cleaning and sanitizing carts and baskets
